San raffaele foundation in milan

A.E.I. Perego: the motorised headstock of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.

San Raffaele Hospital bell has a diameter of 203 cm and it weighs 5140 kg.

In June 2002 this bell was placed in front of the main hospital facade, on a steel framework that recalls, in stylised form, the dome of the Basilica of San Pietro in Rome. We planned and realised this framework – it has a height of 17 meters, a diameter of 15 meters and it weighs over 60 tons.

The automation has been realised through the “Motorised Headstock”, our exclusive patent that allows the movement of the bell without wheels and external motors.
